Going to the spa is one of life's little luxuries that I just adore. So, for my birthday I was treated by my family to the most luxurious spa days of them all... a day at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Mencey Spa. This place is an oasis in the hot and dusty city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and for me, it is pure bliss.
Being a constant worrier and anxious Annie, I decided it was probably a good thing to book the longest treatment available. The Ayurveda Abhyanga special was 80mins of relaxation with a massage using warm essential oils, herbal bags and techniques from Indian medicine to help eliminate toxins, symptoms of anxiety and insomnia and to also purify the body. It was an incredible experience and words cannot describe just how relaxed I felt after. This was then followed by a facial which brought the day to an end but I was still able to enjoy the amazing facilities at the spa such as the water circuits, flotation tank and sauna.
This was such a lovely welcome to Tenerife and really made me stop and focus on the important things in life. Sadly all good things have to come to an end but at least the memories live on.
