QUITTING COFFEE FOR 2018




Living in Spain definitely has its upsides... the eternal summertime, amazing food and gorgeous beaches. However, one of the things that is a personal downside is the amount of coffee consumed. I am a massive tea lover myself (fitting the British stereotype nicely) and it is very hard to find a good cup of tea here in Tenerife so the easiest option is to order a coffee.

After a year of drinking espressos on every break I had and occasionally indulging in a "leche leche", a sickly sweet combination of milky coffee and condensed milk I am calling it quits on coffee. Whilst being a great energy enhancer and a heart warming ritual, I have found that coffee messes up my energy levels, sleep patterns and not to mention anxiety.

Giving up coffee also has the following benefits: 

-Lowers Blood Pressure

-Breaks the Addiction

-Saves you Money

-Decreases Anxiety

-Reduces Mood Swings

-You Will Experience Fewer Headaches

-Healthier, Whiter Teeth

-Weight Loss

-Increased Productivity

-Better Response to Caffeine

-Reduced Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

So, whilst it is a personal choice to give up coffee completely or to cut down gradually, the endless health and wellness benefits are definitely something to consider.

Could you live without coffee?



Vivir en España por cierto tiene sus ventajas ... el verano eterno, comida increíble y hermosas playas. Sin embargo, una de las cosas que para mí,  es una desventaja es la cantidad de café que se consume. Soy un gran amante del té (encajando bien con el estereotipo británico) y es muy difícil encontrar un buen té aquí en Tenerife, así que la opción más fácil es pedir un café.

Después de un año bebiendo espressos en cada descanso que tuve y de vez en cuando un "leche leche", (una dulce combinación de café con leche y leche condensada), ahora llega el momento romper mi relación con el café.  He descubierto que el café arruina mis niveles de energía, patrones de sueño y sin mencionar la ansiedad.

Dejar de tomar el café también tiene los siguientes beneficios:

-Reduce la presión arterial

-Rompe la adicción

-Le ahorra dinero

-Disminuye la ansiedad

-Reduce los cambios de humor

-Experimentarás menos dolores de cabeza

-Dientes más sanos y blancos

-Pérdida de peso

-Productividad incrementada

-Sin Café es Más Fácil Reducir Peso

-Riesgo reducido de diabetes tipo 2

Por lo tanto, es una decisión personal dejar el café por completo o reducir gradualmente pero los infinitos beneficios de salud y bienestar definitivamente son algo a considerar.
