London Fashion Week SS13: Leutton Postle

Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle, the designers behind the brand, Leutton Postle have once again produced a stellar collection for SS13 full of statement accessories and beautifully crafted garments.

Stepping inside the Freemason's hall to watch to show was like stepping into an Aladdin's cave of colourful prints, glitter, beads and intricately woven textiles. It was a complete feast for the eyes. The collection itself is inspired by the heritage of woven textiles and traditional patterning such as quilting, patchwork and faire isle which the designers have taken and reworked to create visually arresting patterning, full of neon accents and varying shapes. There was, however, a real focus on creating a polished, elegant shape as well as a luxury finish which fits in with the more grown up feel of the collection. Knitted shirts, detailing such as the collar and  pencil style skirts show a maturity within the designs but when combined with mix of sheer and thick fabrics, acid bright colours and Hama beads it is apparent that the label is not straying too far from it's roots.

Models paraded down the catwalk to the soundtrack of 'Buffalo Stance' amongst other 80's techno punk hits, wearing the most amazing pairs of glitter platform heels decorated with hama beads, melted into an Aztec pattern.

This show was techno traveller chic at it's best. I am officially in love!
