IN MY SUITCASE | TENERIFE

Tenerife is the home to the eternal summer. Temperatures rarely fall beneath 20 degrees, weekends are spent at the beach and palm trees line every street and coastline. It is a tropical paradise and I love it!

I especially love this island because I get to wear my summer wardrobe all year round and I can feel lighter and free wearing just a summer dress and a pair of sandals. The style of the locals is always fairly smart. Women wear a lot from shops like Zara and Mango and gentlemen have always got on a nice pair of trousers and smart polo shirt. Whilst there are no key items to include in your wardrobe to make you feel like a local, the essence can be recreated.

Having been to the island four times for varying periods, I have quickly learnt that layers are an essential part of dressing. Whilst the daytime can be very hot, the temperature can drop in the evening and it is nice to have an extra jumper in your bag to whip out for the after dinner drinks. I will be visiting again at the beginning of February, for Carnival (more on that later), so I thought I would share my packing tips with you all in case any of you are lucky enough to be jetting off for some Winter sun.

Here is my Tenerife edit:

A Bikini is an essential in any suitcase, as are a pair of denim cut offs, As most women wear sandals on the island, I have chosen a pair of espadrilles which can be worn day and night. A customized t-shirt will be great for sightseeing and the jumper will keep the breeze off your back at night.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I will get back to you.
