Scream Gallery, known for hosting the blockbuster Chris Bracey exhibition a couple of weeks ago, has unveiled their latest exhibition titled: STATIC: PHANTASMS OF THE LIVING.
STATIC is a two man collection made up of two London based artists, Tom Jackson and Craig Evans. Their highly creative and sometimes mysterious works of art are a mix of graphic design and fine art, combining the skills of the two mediums to create work that is both abstract and figurative.
The title of the exhibition: 'Phantasms of the Living' comes from a journal published in 1886 by a member of the Society of Psychical Research. The journal studies paranormal activity and apparitions which in turn provides the theme of the exhibition. Layers of glass, some spray painted, some left clear trap a collection of mixed media such as wood chippings, dried flowers, ash and printed paper creating a visually appealing work of art whilst housing an underlying battle between beauty and decay.
Can you see what is behind the glass? You can see the exhibition for yourself here. The exhibition runs until 20th July 2013.
