It isn't everyday that you get invited to a party where they promise to serve satchel shaped jellies, however, The Cambridge Satchel Company pulled out all the stops and provided guests with just that- multi coloured satchel shaped jellies, frosted in a layer of glitter. How off the wall is that?!
The Cambridge Satchel Company, founded by Julie Deane, is famous for providing us with the beloved fluorescent satchels worn by bloggers and celebrities alike. This week, they have opened the doors of their first shop to the public. Based on the winding cobbled streets of Shorts Gardens, London the shop is like a shot of colour, fun and excitement. It is impossible to cross the threshold of the door and not have your mood instantly lifted by the cute décor and amazingly colourful satchels on display. The new store also comes with an embossing area so shoppers can buy a bag and have it embossed on the same day. For those of us who are busy running across London blogging, Julie has designed a sanctuary where bloggers can rest their weary feet and blog in the comfort of the store.
The party itself was so much fun. Champagne flowed as guests danced to upbeat soundtrack provided by DJ Sophie Ellis Bextor. Satchels stood proud on the shelves and with the new Chelsea collection launching this week, it was the perfect way to experience the new satchels before anyone else. I managed to catch up with old friends, Jaime, Prince and Leroy as well as meet new faces and even Julie's family. It was the perfect way to celebrate the dawning of a new era for The Cambridge Satchel Company, I am excited to see what the future will bring.
