In Conversation With Fashion Designers Roland Klein and David Sassoon

For centuries, women have been associated with fashion and clothes allowing the garments we wear to shape and form our identities. Clothes have come to define human beings, allowing the outside world to form opinions on people without any communication being made.

Maggie Semple OBE is a woman who truly understands how clothes make us feel and why we become so attached to one particular garment. With her knowledge and her desire to discover the stories behind women's treasured garments, she established Maggie Semple Ltd in October 2010 and since then a network of like minded women has been created, all united by their fashion stories.

Semple: Women Fashion Stories

On February 4th, Maggie Semple will be hosting an afternoon of conversation at London's Southbank Centre where she will be discussing fashion and how clothes make us feel. Maggie will be joined by a panel of guest speakers which include: Jude Kelly, the Southbank Centre's artistic director and fashion designers Roland Klein  and David Sassoon. Roland Klein has been the creativity behind fashion's big names such as Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld and Max Mara as well as establishing his own successful fashion line which has been a favourite amongst celebrities for decades. Klein has now taken his design skills and has created his own interior design company. David Sassoon also has a star studded list of clientèle with Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Jerry Hall being just a few of the people he has designed for.

If you have a treasured item of clothing and want to share your story or are just interested in hearing the stories behind other people's garments then make sure you book yourself onto the event soon, as tickets are selling fast.

You can book tickets direct from the Southbank Centre here.

  1. Hi! I certainly know Maggie Semple and I love the work they do. I used to work just opposite their office in London when I was living there last year and she was always very stylish and nice to me when I first talked to her. She has a great taste in fashion, in my opinion. Really enjoyed your post!
