London Fashion Week AW13 DAKS

The DAKS AW13 show took place at 9am on Saturday morning which meant that only the most dedicated of fans were present. There were no sharp elbows needed, no pushing and shoving and also no one trying to draw attention away from the collection and towards themselves. On the whole, it attracted a decent crowd full of industry professionals and stylish individuals.

DAKS works around a smart, classic, conservative look which being a Surrey girl, I immediately warm to. However, I was not expecting the collection to have such a grungy edge to it. DAKS have tapped into the key trends of the season and utilized them in a way which makes grunge chic appealing to even the most conservative of customers. Crisp, woollen fabrics in varying shades of grey contrasted with shiny gold leather and midnight blue pencil skirts. Olive green leather even had its moment, appearing in the show in the form of boots and jackets.

The collection was one of my favourites from the AW13 shows due to its wearable nature, simplicity and timeless elegance. I am already picturing where and when I will wear the key looks from the show. It must be love!
