Deep Sea Fashion Shoot


Imagine a photoshoot that brings to life the glamour and opulence of the Rococo era and then combines this with a stunning underwater scene filled with a ship wreck and iridescent fishes. That is exactly the scene Austrian born photographer, Andreas Franke, has recreated. 

Shot off the coast of Barbados, at 130ft below sea level Franke shows how society's elite live in their own little bubble, unaware of the real world around them. The floaty, feminine costumes contrast with the grainy, decaying surroundings highlighting the frivolity of the upper classes. 

The whole series of photos can be seen here and for those of you who want to see them up close and personal, Franke's gallery is open to the public. The only problem is that it is located 80ft below sea level, on board the USS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg ship
