AW Trends 2011
Summer is definitely gone...the days are getting shorter and we are leaving the house in the darkness only to return in the dark too. What a depressing thought!!
Luckily, this season promises to be a season of sartorial delight. As you can see from the images above, the trends for this season are highly styled, sophisticated trends that will bring out the best in you and of course, will not cost you too much.
Fur gillets are making a big come back this season and they can easily be worn with a cream lace blouse like in this picture or with a black polo neck underneath. Pair it with jeans to make the look more casual or black trousers for a smarter feel. I bought a lovely (faux) fur gillet in Selfridges recently and I am desperate for the weather to get that little bit colder so that I can wear it.
Winter shorts are a necessity for any woman this autumn. Not only do they make a killer outfit when teamed up with a pair of high heeled ankle boots but they also give you a break from skirts. I own three pairs of these types of shorts, a hot pink pair, a black pair and a tweed pair. I cannot live without them and they look great with a blouse or a v-neck jumper.
The trend of always having a Mulberry bag with you to show your fashion credentials is getting old (although that is to say that if offered one, I probably would accept it...who doesn't love a good Mulberry bag?!) and in it's place is the Kennedy bag designed by Kate Spade. As you can see from the photo, the bag boasts similarities to the Alexa bag but reworks this season's satchel trend, taking it to the next level. As a blogger, this bag offers many more advantages over the Alexa, the most important being the extra space which is created due to the bag's boxy finish. The Alexa better watch out as there’s a new bag in town!!
And finally...where would I be without my leopard print scarves??! *Gosh* I do not want to think about it. It induces a mild heart attack just thinking about it. For those lucky few who know me in person, you will know that I nearly always wear a leopard print scarf to finish off an outfit. As you can see in this photo, the scarf just finishes off the outfit completely, adding a sophisticated, timeless elegance to the outfit.
I hope you will take these guidelines and create your own trends for this autumn. Which of these trends is your favourite and what do you predict will make it big this autumn?
