Menswear Monday: London Collections Men James Long Show

Recalling the long lost days of the hedonistic 70's and 80's, James Long's AW13 collection is fuelled by his love for John Waters' films and the characters that make up the many stories within them. The main focus of the collection is of course what is worn on top. The bomber jacket was featured in a variety of fabrics ranging from quilted nylon to James Long's classic knitted wool. The jackets themselves were cut to look like leather jackets showing the masculinity of the models. The knitted bomber jacket is disguised as a slouchy cardigan creating a strong sense of cosiness whilst still maintaining a strict shape and the signature James Long knitted double cuff.

The colour scheme of the collection is a mellow mix of burgundy, mustard and brown giving it a real 70's vibe. Although subdued in colour, the garments are electric and are a true example of James Long's skill and talent as a designer.
